Secular-Religious Quandaries
Secular and Religious Quandaries
Widespread corruption within medieval monasticism due to secular interference from the Benedictine order spawned the Cluniac Reform Movement around the eighth century. Problems began emerging when feudal lords became patrons of land that Benedictine monasteries required. Afterwards the lords would often demand the right to interfere with the business of the monastery. The influence of the feudal lords within the monastery meant that they were subject to the authority of the law, instead of the papacy. The lack of organization of the order meant that the monasteries were left exposed to the dangers and vices
Late Antiquity
Late Antiquity is the period of time from 300-700 AD and separates the ages of Classical Antiquity and Early Middle Ages. A better estimation of Late Antiquity would be marked from the end of the Roman Empires Crisis of the Third Century (c. 284 AD) to the removal of Heraclius from the throne of the Byzantine Empire in 711 AD. This period also establishes the Migration period of the Germanic barbarian tribes from northern Europe into Roman cities and their eventual conversion into Christianity at the beginning of the era. The first key event to establish is the evaporation of the Roman Empire. The end of the great class
Proselytization
Magnificent automatons
Centuries in the making
The slightest manipulations
Control their every breath
Thoughts and feelings
Funneled into unconsciousness
Motions so precise
They rust the wings
Of our mechanical Angels
Sanguinity
When Tragedy's stages
Lose their crimson tears
And the Angel's wings
Rust from misuse
The bitter skins shed
Morphing into spirit
And fuse themselves unto
Our elemental Ancestors
Insanity
A new era emerges
Smothered stars descend
Whence skies ablaze
Paranormal vision invasion
Minds halfway warped
To cross lines of sanity
But be that as it may
There are times I wish
To transce
Until eyes open again
Internal force quelled
Christ and Lucifer
Redemption and Pride
Balanced by the Stone
Avenged Angels
Now of flesh
Spill their blood
Myriad living swirls
Seep into Earth
A new era emerges
Smothered stars descend
Whence skies ablaze
Paranormal vision invasion
Minds halfway warped
To cross lines of sanity
But be that as it may
There are times I wish
To transcend mortal spheres
So I think I'll stay
If only for a while

Understanding from the Inside
We shall never reach that Utopian society,
to where one would know as much,
as two on the left, three on the right.
But an ignorant Terrene we propogate,
tantalizing amounts of defilement and benightedness.
And here I stand alone,
a beautiful mind,
thirsting for knowledge, to reach the cosmos.
Yet everything is in our head,
how are we to know it is real?
Where is the divide,
between the real and the fabricated?
I do not think it matters.
But then, who are we,
in this Simulated Existance.
Sinking, a sign
Just beyond the imagination
Out of mind, playing circles in your sight
Impulse control revalation
Control! (You've never had it)
Control! (You'll never have it)
This is the day of the Devils
Everything you know has never been
Torn down from your cloud
Trapped in our unforgivable Sin
Scorch this world
Burn down all you are
And set fire to Heaven
Leave nothing but scars

Tear the flesh from my eyes
You've helped me see
Pulled me back into the world
Sobered by the truth in front of me
My minds eye was closed
So fucking empty inside
I've had these walls up for so long
Wanted nothing more to hide
You're the morphine in my veins
Joke for a life, you clear it
I've been cheated, robbed
So here I stand with
Nothing left to hold on to
Nothing but a broken man
And now this life is gone
You fucking lied to me
I thought you were everything
Something you could never be
Bitch, I hope you die
Tear you apart, tear you down
Kill everything you ever loved
Seeds of revenge have been sown
You were the morp

"I can make you happy
I can be anything you want me to
But I wish you could stay
You, that's all I want
In these two lines, I promise
I'll always be in your heart"
Bethany smirked to herself. Ah what a childish delight. She took respite in her poetry; it was really all she needed for herself.
She sighed and put down her pen. The sun was setting, it was getting late. Tomorrow would be a busy day, for it would be her day. It would be her day to love, her day to give, to sing, and flourish in a soft, but warm yellow light.
"Come thee mortals
And you shall see
A story of old
All told by three"
Listen to the words not
For they are jus

Well to begin with a lot of the castle has been worked on, so when I'm done typing this update I'll repost it. Not much else to report...about the only book I've read the past couple weeks was On Bullshit by Henry G. Frankfurt, but I am amassing more books like Blindness by Jose Saramago, Encyclopedia of the World's Religions, a book on airborne missile guidance and control systems, the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Most of those I will end up just glossing over. I'll read the Book of the Dead and give a summary about it next time I update. Aside from all that, don't expect too much for a while.
Well I never really received anything to in 3d...so I guess that won't happen anytime soon. On the other hand, as you may have noticed, I have been inadvertently writing a series of poetic-ish stories. I shall continue with that on my remaining free time. Another interesting thing to note is I will be designing a medieval castle soon for my Medieval Europe class. Since it will be created in AutoCAD I will definably be submitting designs as screen shots, but can supply the files if anyone would like them. I may also be submitting more writings if I can get any good inspirations from any of the Dungeons and Dragons sessions I attend...other tha
As in I wanna do more modeling, but it's usually best if I can get the dimensions of things. Sadly I have nothing interesting to model right now. People should send me stuff to make three dimensional models out of. Other than that the only other things in progress is a Menger sponge, but due to the complexity and amount of extrusions, the program tends to freeze quite often and it's giving me a hard time. I'm also reading The Hermetic and Alchemical Writings of Paracelsus. He's pretty neat, for a 11th century Swiss alchemist/physician. The book itself is quite interesting, he explains the Seven Rules or Fundamental Canons according to the sev
